The Room of Requirement is your own realm in Hogwarts Legacy that you can customize however you like. At this point we will tell you how you can find, expand and enlarge the room of wishes.
Unlock Room of Requirement
You automatically unlock the Room of Requirement as you progress through the story quests. More precisely, after the 21st main mission “The Room of Requirement”. You also need to be level 6 to do this. If you just follow the story missions and watch all the cutscenes and dialogue, it will take you about four hours to get to this point.
The game then introduces you to the Room of Requirement with tutorials. You will learn the following spells that can only be used in the Room of Requirement:
- Summoning Spells: Lets you summon objects in the Room of Requirement.
- Alteration Spell: Lets you change the properties of objects in the Room of Requirement.
- Evanesco: Makes objects in the Room of Requirement disappear and gives you back Moonstone.
Further functions of the Room of Requirement are also only unlocked with progress in the story. For example, after the 28th main mission “The elf, the knapsack and the loom” you unlock the enclosure for magical animals in the Room of Requirement.
Also, stick to the house-elf Deek, who can always be found in the Room of Requirement. He’s like the caretaker and can change the general decor and lighting mood of the room for you with a snap of his fingers. Also complete his side missions, because you will learn, for example, the change spell from him.
find the room of desire
Finding the Room of Requirement later in Hogwarts is not that easy. But there is a practical fast travel function that you can use. To do this, select the Hogwarts map and click on the sun icon that hovers over the school. This symbol gives you access to the secret rooms.
In the list below, you can also use the Flea Flame locations next to the Map Chamber travel to the Room of Requirement. This way you can always get back to your room quickly.
Expand and enlarge the Room of Desires
Through the tutorials in the course of the story you will already get to know many functions of the Room of Requirement. In order to customize it further, you should primarily look at the in the game world “Collection Chests” regard.
These crates are collectibles and are marked with chest icons throughout the game world. Opening it will give you a random decoration item that you can summon and place in the Room of Requirement. In the Collections menu under the “Summons” category, your unlocked items are listed and you can see how many you are still missing.
Also pay attention butterfly symbols, which sometimes appear on the minimap. These butterflies will lead you to a chest with more summoning items if you follow them to the end.
To increase the Room of Requirement, stick with Deek and complete his side missions. This includes:
These quests will unlock the Alteration Spell, which you can use to customize objects later. Above all, they unlock expansions in the Room of Requirement. This gives you access to more rooms and new enclosures for magical animals. If Deek doesn’t have a side mission for you right now, you’ll have to make progress in the story before new ones become available.
