For Disney+, “The Mandalorian” is the driving force par excellence, as the Star Wars series is one of the most successful content on the platform. Now the latest episode also set a new record and proves that the series dares. Because brevity is the essence.
Star Wars fans have been rather disappointed in the cinema recently, but the franchise is really reviving at Disney+. Since 2019, fans have been enthusiastic about “The Mandalorian” – the first real series in the Star Wars universe.
With an overall IMDb rating of 8.7 out of 10 and a 90 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, the series is beyond reproach. Also the recent episode (episode 4 of season 3) with the name “The Foundling” once again provides exciting entertainment and also provides a new record on (watch on Disney+).
Disney + shows courage: The shortest episode of “The Mandalorian” hits
With less than 33 minutes it is the one so far shortest episode – 32 minutes and 21 seconds, to be exact. Of course, this is pure gross time. As with wages, less is left over net. If you subtract the flashback to the beginning of the episode and the credits, then there are still about 27 minutes of pure “broadcast time” left. Pretty little for such a great series, right?
This may be true in quantitative terms, but the quality is convincing in the end. You dare to do something and it was worth it. With a current IMDb rating of 8.1, the fourth episode is the second best of the current season so far, only the second episode was slightly better with 8.4 points (source: IMDB).
The third season in the trailer:
The Mandalorian season 3 trailer
Good to know: The previous “negative record” was held by the second episode of the first season at just under 34 minutes. Even then it was clear: It doesn’t matter the length, even shorter episodes of The Mandalorian are worth every minute. By the way, the third episode of the current 3rd season was the longest episode of the series so far at almost one hour.
Jar Jar Binks is back, but as you think
There is also a real surprise hidden in the latest episode. Because none other than “Jar Jar Binks” has an appearance, even if not directly. Actor Ahmed Best can be seen and breathed life into the rather annoying “Jar Jar Binks”. This time, however, we see Best in a different role, as a Jedi Master of all things. But we don’t want to reveal more, so you have to watch the current episode for yourself.
