There is currently no getting around ChatGPT. Microsoft has announced that it will integrate the chatbot into its Bing search engine. In the meantime, it has also been presented how the whole thing should look like. How to use ChatGPT in Bing?

Update: ChatGPT in Bing for everyone – no more waiting list
Previously, you had to spend an indefinite amount of time on the waiting list before you could use Bing with ChatGPT. This has an end now. Although Microsoft has not yet announced an official launch for everyone. However, many users report that they were activated for the chatbot immediately after entering the waiting list. ChatGPT can now be used by everyone in Bing. Bing is also the best opportunity to use the new GPT-4 for free. Microsoft’s search engine has been using the updated language model for several weeks. To access ChatGPT in Bing, you must use the Microsoft Edge browser.
Original article from February 14, 2023:
Who the search engine Bing opens in the browser, already sees a greatly enlarged search field there. This field offers space for an entire, formulated search query, instead of a single or fewer search terms. However, if you send your request, you are currently still on the normal results page on Bing.
When can you use Bing with ChatGPT? Register now for the waiting list
ChatGPT is not yet officially available on Bing. You can find it on the home page though a link, which you can use to put yourself on a waiting list. Here you have to register with a Microsoft account. As soon as there is news about the start of the search via chatbot, you will be informed by e-mail from the Bing team.
You should be able to use ChatGPT in Bing even faster if, after registering for the waiting list, you click on the button “Faster access to the new Bing“ pushes. Then you get new instructions with which you should be able to access the chatbot before everyone else.
On the one hand, you should set up Bing as the default search engine for the current browser and also install the Bing app on your smartphone. At this point you can see that AI-supported text creation is still in its infancy. The text on this page reads quite unprofessionally. So it says there:
“Access the new Bing even faster. Go to the line when you complete the following: Set Microsoft defaults on your PC. Scan the QR code to get the Microsoft Bing app. Sign in to count it“.
Let’s hope that only the automated text translation at Microsoft is at this level and ChatGPT can provide better formulated answers. It is not known when ChatGPT will be officially released in Microsoft.
This is what Bing looks like with ChatGPT
For a short time, Bing was already available to some users with ChatGPT. The designer Owen Yin shared some screenshots. The search engine runs there under the title “The New Bing” and ChatGPT-4 is used. ChatGPT is currently running in the third version. The displayed search field offers space for up to 1,000 characters, so that you can formulate very detailed inquiries here. There is space for special instructions next to a question.
You can also write examples here to get precise answers. The author and the source are given in the answers. In this way, users can understand where the information comes from and go deeper there. Users are still free to decide whether they want to use the classic Bing search engine or access the chatbot answers. On the Bing homepage you can already see some examples of ChatGPT results below the text field. In addition to the classic search results with links to other websites, you can see the chatbot’s answers on the right-hand side of the browser window.
