WhatsApp is testing newsletters in Messenger
In the current beta version of WhatsApp for Android are Reference to a newsletter function popped up. The messenger itself will not send its own newsletter, but will provide companies, individuals or other groups with the opportunity to do so. The function has not yet appeared in the final version of WhatsApp, but is still being tested.
What the WhatsApp newsletter will ultimately look like is not yet known. According to the beta version, they could in the status tab of the messenger be integrated, i.e. separated from private chats. The newsletters should be displayed ad-free and chronologically. They should have individual handles, making them easier to find in the app.
According to initial reports, WhatsApp is to be included in the newsletters do without the usual end-to-end encryption (Source: WABetaInfo). The telephone number of users who subscribe to a newsletter or create one themselves should remain hidden. Other users should also not be able to see who has subscribed to which newsletter. The function should also not develop into a kind of social network.

At this point in time, it is not yet possible to estimate when Meta, as the operator of WhatsApp, will release the newsletter for all users. The function is still in development and is so far only appeared in the Android variant. In the event of a final publication, however, the newsletter should also be available on iOS.
