The Summer Game Fest 2026 really rocked the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles last night. Although the live broadcast for the German audience didn’t start until 11 p.m., staying awake was definitely worth it for many gaming fans.
The presenter duo Geoff Keighley and Lucy James whipped up their usual dense program on the screen, which finally revealed the many announcements. From real world premieres to spectacular gameplay scenes to long-awaited updates from well-known publishers, everything was there.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation
Square Enix is using the grand finale of the Summer Game Fest to the last act of the big new edition to reveal. A first atmospheric trailer provides a brief look at the modernized horror experience. The developers are using the in-house engine for the ambitious project to completely renew the outdated gameplay of the original. Stellar Blade Blood Rain
The developers of SHIFT UP announced the Sequel to “Stellar Blade” to. The sequel remains in the same dystopian world, but has a new protagonist. An almost four-minute long reveal trailer also provides first impressions of the fresh setting, which is reminiscent of a traditional Chinese city.
While the studio is still holding back on plot details and only promises a continuation of the well-known events, the video material already shows clear differences. Alien Isolation 2
The British development studio Creative Assembly breaks the long silence about the successor to his horror milestone from 2014. The unpredictable behavior of the xenomorph, which was realized in the first part by a revolutionary AI, should also offer thrills again in the new offshoot. The brief glimpse marks the project’s first sign of life since its official announcement in fall 2024.
Although the moving footage is extremely compact with a running time of just 25 seconds, it immediately conveys the usual oppressive atmosphere. The scene shown presents a mechanical sliding door whose status light changes from red to green, immediately evoking memories of the narrow corridors of the Sevastopol. This time, however, the path does not lead into the next dark room of the space station, but instead reveals a completely rainy outdoor area. Cuphead 2 & Spin-off
Studio MDHR brings the players an unexpected double act and announces two new projects based on his iconic cup heroes. The biggest long-term news concerns the development of a full-fledged sequel that will continue the 1930s cartoon style. Since the ambitious project is still in a very early development phase, those responsible decided not to present gameplay scenes. Instead, the announcement focused on the naked knowledge of the sequel’s existence.
The real sensation on stage was the unveiling of the spin-off “Mighty Cuphead Adventure,” which was presented using real hand puppets. This offshoot radically breaks with the familiar look and instead relies on an authentic 8-bit pixel look. A smaller team developed the game under the technical restrictions of the original Sega Master System hardware from the 1980s. Players control Cuphead and Mugman through classic arcade levels, encountering familiar bosses in a new retro look. Blood Message
Around a year after the announcement, the single-player blockbuster “Blood Message” is back with a gripping story trailer back. The action-adventure developed by Studio 24 takes players to Tang Dynasty China. The focus is on a nameless messenger who travels 1,600 kilometers from Dunhuang to Chang’an with his son to deliver a world-shattering message. While concrete release dates are still missing, publisher NetEase is promising a detailed presentation of real gameplay today.
TMNT: The Last Ronin
Three years after the announcement of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin,” a new teaser breaks the silence and reveals a real surprise. The action game, originally set by Black Forest Games, was handed over to the Japanese action specialists PlatinumGames. There is also a change on the publisher side: Instead of THQ Nordic, the newly founded Paramount Games Studio is taking over distribution. The dark adventure about the last surviving turtle marks the first major title under the media group’s new label.
Guild Wars 3
ArenaNet is breaking with a long-standing tradition and canceling a “Guild Wars” spin-off for the PS5 for the first time to. The MMORPG is set in the legendary Orr region a thousand years before the original game and promises an innovative game world. According to studio boss Colin Johanson, the developers want to modernize the genre while respecting players’ time. Crossfire
Studio That’s No Moon unveils debut project “Crossfire” – a story-driven action game, which is a bit reminiscent of “The Last of Us”. In a pessimistic world filled with greed, two warring operators are forced to work together for their very survival. The partnership, which is characterized by deep moral tensions, repeatedly requires the players to make momentous decisions. In terms of gameplay, the title relies on an innovative “Adaptive Cover” system that combines cover, movement and stealth mechanics.
Gen Atlas
Fumito Ueda reveals the final name of his new work “Gen Atlas”. The open world action adventure developed by genDESIGN captures the melancholic style of the “Shadow of the Colossus” makers and throws players without memory onto a deserted planet. Amidst endless plains, abandoned complexes and colossal buildings, you have to explore the remains of a huge secret. The cinematic single-player title will be released at an unknown date for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
Bandai Namco uses the big stage for a bold reinterpretation of his iconic giant robot brand. The title takes a completely new direction and introduces a fresh timeline that allows newcomers to enter the sci-fi universe. In the role of the elite pilot RE-X, the players take over the cockpit of the highly mobile combat robot Gundam Helix. The newly founded studio Maverick Games, led by former “Forza Horizon 5” lead developer Mike Brown, breaks with classic racing game conventions. The trailer grants first insights into the open, varied game world the French Riviera. Away from typical festival scenarios, a dark campaign penned by “Skins” co-creator Jamie Brittain unfolds. Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor
Almost a year after the release, Hangar 13 and 2K Games announced “Man of Honor“ a major story expansion. The atmospheric reveal trailer reveals a historical encounter: Protagonist Enzo Favara meets the young Ennio Salieri in wintry Sicily in 1905. As a proven soldier of the Torrisi family, Enzo and Cesare are given the mission to support Salieri, who has just been released from prison. Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance
