Bethesda released the next update to the sci-fi role-playing game “Starfield” this week under version 1.16.244. As the publisher promises, a critical error that has caused frustration since the launch of the PS5 should finally be a thing of the past.
Bethesda released the science fiction role-playing game very late „Starfield“ in April also for the PS5. Unfortunately, the joy for players on Sony’s console didn’t last long.
Although the PS5 community benefited from the beginning from the various improvements that Bethesda made to “Starfield” in the past, at the same time the PS5 version struggled at launch with various technical errorswhich culminated in frustrating crashes, among other things.
As Bethesda announceda new update is available for download on the PS5, which updates “Starfield” to version 1.16.244 and fixes what is probably the most serious error that the sci-fi role-playing game suffered from on the PS5 in terms of uncontrolled crashes.

In detail it’s about the bug that causes the game to crash when exploring planetary surfaces for no apparent reason and, above all, without warning. A bug that has caused frustration since the release of “Starfield” on the PS5.

In addition to the PS5, “Starfield” is available for the PC and the Xbox Series X/S. As the team at Bethesda Game Studios has emphasized several times in the past few months, they would like to work on further improvements and content for the role-playing game. It is still unclear which projects the developers can actually tackle, but it is internal a long list of potential innovations.
On the future plans with “Starfield” added lead creative producer Tim Lamb: “Well, I think when we make a game we always set ourselves the goal of creating a timeless classic. And that will always be my ambition for it. It’s about looking back and saying, ‘You know what, that was something special. A timeless classic.'”
