PlayStation Store: Sony’s cleanup continues – next Shovelware provider on the verge of extinction –

In the PlayStation Store, Sony continues to wield the broom and take action against shovelware and AI slop productions. As can be seen from a statement from the studio, Acyntha, the next provider of cheaply produced mass-produced goods, is about to go out of business in the PlayStation Store.

In recent months, Sony has continued its fight against Shovelware PlayStation Store consistently and pulled the plug on several providers of cheap software.

Just recently, for example, it happened the Webnetic studiowhich literally flooded the PlayStation Store with shovelware and offered hundreds of “games”, often generated using AI, which were visually based on well-known titles and were intended to attract attention with their low prices.

Like yourself a message from Acyntha As can be seen, the next provider of such cheap productions in the PlayStation Store is on the verge of extinction. Acyntha speaks briefly and succinctly about PlayStation ending its collaboration with the studio.

Next shovelware provider is thrown out

“Delistings are coming up on the PlayStation soon. Apparently at the end of this month if I understand correctly. So play them all! Try Integrifix with headphones. Read through the Moontales. I’ll be talking about some games in detail soon, so get ready for something,” the studio writes on its X channel.

What is interesting is that Acyntha was apparently informed about Sony’s move in advance. This time, Sony took a different approach than in the last waves of delisting, which, according to its own statements, caught the affected providers off guard.

Acyntha focused on cheap productions like on the PlayStation Store „Pizza No Pizza“, „Acyntha-roids“ or „Clown car VS the War“which are usually offered for prices under three euros and whose sole purpose is to give players a quick and easy Platinum trophy.

A business model that some shovelware providers have pursued in the past and that in recent months has not only resulted in Sony throwing thousands of product listings of this type out of the PlayStation Store.

PSN Profiles, the most popular online portal for PlayStation trophies, also reacted with a decisive step at the beginning of March. According to a statement from the operators, Shovelware titles and the simple platinum trophies associated with them will be included in the international rankings no longer taken into account.

“In addition, Shovelware’s functions are limited. There are no leaderboards, clubs or forums. This is a waste of resources. Shovelware is just a nuisance,” the portal continued.
