Jurassic Park Survival: After a long radio silence

Things have been worryingly quiet around “Jurassic Park: Survival” in recent months, so fans were already fearing the worst. But now Saber Interactive CEO Matt Karch is breaking the silence and providing an optimistic update on the current status of the dinosaur adventure.

The waiting time for solid information „Jurassic Park: Survival“ is like a real test of patience: as early as December 2023 announcedapart from a quick look behind the scenes and first gameplay snippets, there were no other real trailers, screenshots or other signs of life.

But as it now turns out, the radio silence was not due to a bumpy development at the responsible studio Saber Interactive, but rather to a mysterious, franchise-wide blockade by the rights holder Universal Pictures.

And since the waves in the background have now apparently calmed down, studio boss Matt Karch personally brought relief to the community.

Jurassic Park: Survival makes an “all-round solid impression”

In a recent interview with Game File They took advantage of the opportunity to get information directly from Karch about the current status of “Jurassic Park: Survival”. And the Saber CEO’s answer should definitely let the waiting fans breathe a sigh of relief.

“I’m pleased to say that JP Survival is in active development and appears to be solid overall,” said Matt Karch optimistically.

At the same time, the CEO also had a quick word about the racing game that was recently announced during the recent State of Play „Stuntman: Hollywood“which is also in development at Saber. Karch specifically emphasized that both this game and “Jurassic Park: Survival” would “look good.”

A mysterious blockage paralyzed the entire franchise

Karch’s update also shed light on the darkness of the past few months: The radio silence didn’t just affect “Jurassic Park: Survival”. Instead, a real communication blackout had fallen across the entire Dino franchise.

Even the brand’s official social media channels didn’t post a single post for over two months before reporting back on June 1st with a curt “We’re back in business.”

The ban went so far that Saber Interactive even blocked the planned “Jurassic Park” crossover content in the first trailer for “Stuntman: Hollywood”. wasn’t allowed to show. And other titles such as “Jurassic World Evolution 3” also experienced unforeseen content stops.

Karch was not given a specific reason for Universal’s blocking, but according to the publisher, the problem has now been completely solved.

“Jurassic Park: Survival”, which relies on a dense survival horror atmosphere and is very reminiscent of genre greats like “Alien: Isolation”, is still in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and the PC. However, a specific release date or release window is currently still pending.

Since the big opening show of the Summer Game Fest is already scheduled for this evening, there remains a glimmer of hope that there may finally be fresh insights into the adventure of InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was left behind during the evacuation of Isla Nublar and now has to make her way through the ruins of the park alone.
