Rebel Wolves provides a glimpse into a prologue quest from The Blood of Dawnwalker. The new gameplay material revolves around dark caves, an investigation system and a boss fight.
Two months before the game’s launch, the developers of „The Blood of Dawnwalker“ Get a taste of the action role-playing game for a little longer. The eight-minute clip comes from one of the prologue quests and shows how the title plays before the actual vampire story really gets going.
The focus is on the protagonist Coen, who in this early scene is still a completely normal young man and not marked by the vampire curse. In the quest titled “Deep Down,” he descends into an underground ruin to search for Lazar, a local man who has disappeared.
Underground ruins, ancient murals and hidden loot
Accompanied by the visibly frightened Lazar, Coen later makes his way through the dark cave system. The two come across an open space that also serves as the tomb of a warrior who once led armies and enjoyed a lot of respect.
Wall paintings show Coen the way to a sarcophagus where a special reward awaits. An important element of the video is the investigation system: while examining the ancient wall painting, Coen learns about old heroes and a hidden treasure. The system not only reveals background stories, but also reveals the existence of special loot.

The exit from the crypt is ultimately shaped not as easy as expected. Coen meets a powerful opponent who is skilled with his swords. The video ends with a quick boss fight.
What is The Blood of Dawnwalker about?
The role play of Rebel Wolves takes place in 14th century Europe. Bloody conflict and the Black Death plague the land, and at this moment vampires emerge from the shadows to demand freedom and power.
Coen himself transforms into a so-called Twilightblood as the story progresses. He lives as a human during the day and as a vampire at night. Both states come with their own abilities, strengths and weaknesses. The creators point out:
- Two gameplay loops for day and night with different abilities
- Fight with sword and magic as a human or with claws and vampire powers
- Handcrafted open world with forests, swamps, mountains and settlements
- A time system in which each quest accepted advances the plot

“The Blood of Dawnwalker” relies on that Unreal Engine 5 and is intended to be the start of a new saga. The release is scheduled for September 3, 2026 PS5Xbox Series X/S and PC scheduled. The launch takes place, among other things in a Collector’s Edition. Rebel Wolves is a studio founded by, among others, former developers of „The Witcher“series was founded. “The Blood of Dawnwalker” is the team’s first project.
